Mission Statement & Vision

The Mission: The mission of Red River Rodeo Bible Camp (RRRBC) is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Rodeo Ministry. We bring in quality instructors to teach rodeo events to youth camp participants. Participants can already be involved in the professional rodeo arena or have no experience at all. Each clinical session will consist of practical skills training in rodeo events with emphasis on individual skill development, character development and team building. Team Leaders will remain with the participants throughout the camp. Their focus is encouraging spiritual growth. The Vision: This rodeo ministry is meant to be a time of challenge that promotes an openness to the heart of the RRRBC ministry, which is helping people find hope and real purpose in the God of the Bible. We do aim specifically for “unchurched” youth in our evangelism outreach, but all youth are welcome to participate. There are costs involved for participants, but we do not want anyone to be unable to come because of finances. So, we do offer a scholarship program. This is a start-up ministry, so initially we are launching the ministry here in Lamar County at the Cowboy Church at the Camp in Reno, TX as weekend events with no overnight stay. As we gain support and ministry partners in our community, we hope to expand Senior Camp to a full week, where participants stay in-house for the duration. We also plan to include a full rodeo where campers will compete in the events they have been training in. Complete with belt-buckles for our champions and the smell of livestock & corn dogs in the air—the hope is that this rodeo ministry will grow into a community wide event where the Gospel is shared and lives are changed!

Camp Rules

1. Participants must have permission from the Camp Director/Team Leader before leaving the property. 2. Only registered participants with completed paperwork will be allowed to participate in rodeo events. 3. Report any case of illness, injury, or infection as soon as possible to staff. 4. Obtain permission from owner of any animal before interacting with that animal. This includes dogs, horses, cattle, goats and other livestock. 5. All medication (including non-prescription) is only to be administered by staff. 6. All visitors must check in at the registration desk upon arrival. 7. All participants are required to promptly attend all scheduled activities. 8. All participants are responsible for their own personal belongings and are required to respect the privacy and property of others. 9. All participants must follow the cell phone policy. 10. All participants must follow the dress code. 11. No alcohol, tobacco products, and other drugs. 12. No swearing or foul language. 13. No public displays of affection between participants. 14. No roping of people or horses. 15. No riding double and/or bareback. 16. No littering. Participants who refuse to adhere to these rules and/or ignore direction from staff will be sent home.

Dress Code

Clothing Allowed: • Sleeveless shirts that extend to the edge of the shoulder and do not reveal undergarments. • Shirts that cover the mid-section at all times. • Shorts that are thumb length or longer when the arm is extended straight down at the side. • Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. Clothing Not Allowed: • Tank tops, spaghetti straps, crop tops or see-through tops. • Shirts that reveal undergarments. • Cut off shirts with low-cut armpits. • Shirts that show the mid-section. • Shirts that expose cleavage. • Shorts that are shorter than thumb length when the arm is extended straight down at the side. • Clothing containing print or image that is profane, derogatory, disrespectful, obscene, or are otherwise inappropriate for camp. Participants who refuse to adhere to this dress code and/or ignore direction from staff will be sent home.

Cell Phone Policy and Agreement Policy:

Participants are not allowed to bring cell phones or any other electronic devices to camp. Cell phones are expensive and can get lost or stolen and the physical camp environment is not kind. Camp is a unique environment. We are trying to help youth develop life skills at camp including independence and self-reliance. The use of cell phones and text features often distracts participants from the opportunity to become a part of this community. If there is an emergency or we are concerned about the youth’s well-being, we will contact you immediately. If a camper brings a cell phone to camp, it will be held in the camp office until the end of the day. We will not be held responsible for any damage or loss of any cell phone at camp. I have read the above cell phone policy and agree to the guidelines stated, including that the cell phone will be taken to be returned at the conclusion of day if the policy is violated. I understand that if there is an emergency or concerns, I may contact the camp.
